About Accounts On Our Site
You don't need an account to use our website if you are just looking for old houses, or browsing our archives or resources. Still, an account will come handy if you want to keep up with listings you find on our site, or save searches for later use.
Accounts are required if you want to add a listing to our site, or create an old house agent profile.
Accounts are always free, and they never expire. You only pay for services you purchase.

Accounts also come with a number of options you can use to tailor your experience on our web site.

Guest accounts let you try out the site before you provide any personal information. Most new customers on our site start off with guest accounts.
If you decide to stick around, you can register the guest account and turn it into a regular account.
If you don't register a guest account, it will eventually expire, and you will no longer have access to any listings or other information.
Mailing List Accounts
are special accounts that keep up with the folks on our mailing list who don't have regular accounts.
You can't really log into a mailing list account, but you can adjust your email preferences, or opt out, by clicking on the link at the bottom of emails we send you.
You can upgrade to a regular account anytime by clicking the link in the email, and then clicking on the Your Account link top right. Look for the Upgrade button.
are special accounts designed for real estate agents who specialize in old houses.
These accounts, called Profiles, allow you to upload agent headshots and logos, and to promote your services to old house lovers, even when you don't have one for sale.
- Your account information is kept secure and confidential.
- We do not share your account information, including your email, with any outside parties.
- We only send email you give us permission to send, and we honor opt-out requests as quickly as possible (usually within a day or so).
Accessing Your Account
Look for the key at the top right of every page. If you are logged in, you will see your account name. Click the Your Account link to get to your Account Home Page.
If you see a Log In link, the site does not recognize you. You know what to do (click the link).
From your Account Home Page you can access all sections of your account using the links on the right side of the page.
Old House Scrapbook
Create your very own scrapbook with your favorite sale and archived listings. Click the “Add to Scrapbook” button located in the right-side toolbar of every listing. Use the View/Edit Scrapbook button to make changes or email your scrapbook to friends.
Save searches you make from the Search, Advanced Search, and Archive search pages. Manage your saved searches easily from Your Account page. You can check the latest search results, email to friends, or refine your saved searches.
New Listing Notifications
By default, if you’re subscribed to our mailing list, you will receive our weekly email notices with the latest homes for sale.
Take control of the listing notifications you receive each week. You can use any criteria from a saved search to filter which new listing notifications you receive. Manage your specialized notifications from the Email Options section of Your Account.
