This incredible Circa 1926, Frank Lloyd Wright, influenced Prairie Style Craftsman Bungalow is nestled in an upscale neighborhood filled with beautiful Craftsman homes. Our home is featured in the August 2007 issue of Old House Journal.

The home is set up high on a wonderfully terraced fully landscaped yard containing many "prairie" perennial plants, Evergreen, fruit, Norway Maple and Japanese Maple trees. The perennials bloom in a seasonal array which grow abundantly and are viewable everywhere through the Prairie influenced fenestration.

The house was designed and built by, Fred Arnold, an engineer, who studied the Prairie School style of the Craftsman form. He added a Colonial Revival front entrance to reflect the transition period.

The home has been lovingly maintained and has all original 1926 certified oak flooring and woodwork. Thirty one (4/1) multi-paned top sash windows ganged together, ground hugging Prairie design, pyramidal hip roof, front facing massive chimney and deep eaves round out the beauty of this lovely home.

The bath has original brass fixtures, 1926 porcelain tub, sink and cabinetry. The kitchen reflects a 1920-30's time period with the dish railing, open cabinetry, original door and hardware with GE glass top electric oven. Free standing Whirlpool refrigerator all sit on top of a period original, finished Douglas Fir wood floor. The home has an ice room, old pass through window from the kitchen to the formal dining room with built in wood china cabinet. Wood French doors lead into the dining room with a newer prairie style chandelier located in the center of the room. Original Craftsman light fixtures throughout, as well as, doors and hardware, built in linen cabinet with drawers and much more.

A state of the art corn stove has been installed in the dining room. The stove burns shelled corn or wood pellets and heats the home at a fraction of the price of conventional heat. The primary heating system is a gas fired boiler with original beautiful radiators throughout. The corn stove is an energy efficient alternative heating system. The stove has a full glass decorator front through which to view the crackling fire.
