More About Myrtle Hill
Myrtle Hill, built by John Huntington a silversmith from North Carolina, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Entering the front through its 4 stunning Doric Columns, past a most striking stairway, we find the formal Living and Dining Rooms. The lovely mantels and beautiful chandeliers found here are offered throughout these homes. The back sitting porch overlooks azaleas, hydrangeas, camellias and a water feature that includes a water fall.
In 1907, it was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. William Caffee, whose daughter Ruby named the home for the Crepe Myrtles blooming at the time. Ruby lived in the home until age 95, when it was sold to the Lewis family who restored it to become Myrtle Hill Bed and Breakfast & Gardens in 1994.
Myrtle Hill remained in the Lewis family until purchased by its current owners.
