The Folkestone Inn
A Historic Western NC B&B
Farm to Table Gourmet is an understatement. The Folkestone Inn has long been know for its delicious breakfasts. Now the mornings are even more scrumptious. The Folkestone Inn began in the early '20s as a rural farmhouse surrounded by cornfields, gardens and pastures.
Today, much of that farmstead feelings remains. The garden provides fresh herbs and veggies for the legendary farm-to-table breakfast. The beloved flock of hens provide the kitchen with the freshest eggs. Approximately 50+/- free range chickens.
The cornfield is now a sprawling front lawn with plenty of room to chase frisbees or do your morning yoga. Closer to the house, local craftsman homemade chairs surround a fire pit that comes to life many evenings.
From downtown Bryson City going to the Folkestone Bed & Breakfast Inn you will pass the passenger, on and off ramp, for the Great Smokys Railroad. The Great Smokys Railroad has 53 miles of track with two tunnels and 25 bridges.
This is a major tourist destination in Western North Carolina for adults and children of all ages and and ideal for families. For the more mature travelers you are only 10 miles (20 minutes) from the Cherokee Indian Reservation. You will find at your exposure many tourist attractions as well as the Cherokee Casinos.
The Inn is surrounded by a wealth of vacation activities and attractions. One of the most popular is just a short walk from the Folkestone Inn. It is the Great Smoky Mountain National Park's Deep Creek Recreational Area, with three pristine waterfalls, hiking and walking trails, native trout fishing and tubing down Deep Creek.
