This beautiful Victorian has been lovingly restored over the last 15 years. It originally belonged to the Hastings family, who were among the first families in Benicia. It was featured in the Benicia Historic Homes Tour in 2000.
The location is unmatched. It is half a block from Benicia's historic First Street and a half block from the water. You can stroll down the street and tour the old State Capitol building, browse the shops and boutiques, and enjoy a cup of coffee...all just steps from the house.
OR if you choose to walk a half block in the other direction, you can walk along Benicia's waterfront, enjoy the sun setting over the Carquinez Bridge, and watch ducks and seagulls. If you don't feel like walking, just go to the private balcony and take in the water view from there!
The home is artistic, yet practical. Beautiful details and carvins abound, including hand silk screened Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper (made in Benicia), nand painted medallions, marble fireplaces and beautifully restored hardwood floors.
But this is a home built for 21st century living, as the electrical, plumbing, heating, roof and foundation have all been updated. AND if you need a spot for a computer, the sitting room has been converted to an office! All in all...19th century charm updated for today!
