Historic Home in Beautiful Browne's Addition
The Dwight House was built by Daniel Dwight in 1884 and was home to the family for over 100 years. The Dwights are descendants of a prominent Massachesetts family, two members of which were Presidents of Yale University. The Dwights were married in the home and raised five children. The back yard is professionally designed with a grape arbor and garden house. The butler's pantry is oversized with its own sink and lots of storage and work space. There is a walk-in cooler in the basement.
There are two sets of stairs in this house. The formal front stairs with its traditional style is beautiful when decorated with garland and lights at Christmas. There is a second set of stairs in the back of the home commonly referred to as the maids' stairs.
