The Weaver House, in Ollinger TractThe Weaver house was built in 1925 ,and moved by barge from the Weaver Community (inside the Eglin Reserve) and rolled on logs to the present location.The house is a typical Florida cottage with front and back porches. It was probably an Arts and Crafts Kit house. Nothing has been done to the outside in 10 years, so that needs work (front sill, front porch, roof, doesn't leak, but is old) The inside was restored in 2009.It has high ceilings, wood louvred doors, laminate floors, and an arched doorway. There are storm windows on the outside. It was rented for the past 10 years. It needs cleaning, painting and some repairs. The house has been rewired and plumbed. All appliances stay. I am looking for someone who wants to live in the house, and continue the restoration...no investors please. The house is right across the Blackwater river from the Milton Riverwalk. There are plans to extend the Walk both north and south, with more shops, restaurants and a marina. There are Festivals several times a year. |
