Crist House

Historic Crist House
Historic Crist House
The front elevation of the Crist House helps tell the story of the evolution of the home, from the original structure circa 1815 to the first "addition" completed in 1825 to the final additions completed by award winning historic restoration contractor Ireland-May Ltd.
Withing walking distance of the Heritage District of historic downtown Montgomery, Ohio, the landmark Crist House, circa 1815, is a fine example of Federal style architecture. Originally built by Revolutionary War veteran Abraham Crist, the home was sold after construction to his brother Cornelius who added a large addition in 1825. The Crist House has been home to some very influential families in historic Montgomery, OH. Award winning historic restoration contractor Ireland-May Ltd. restored the original structures and added two new wings onto the home to provide additional family gathering space with a dynamic kitchen/hearth room area and a master suite. All work was carefully designed and built with the integrity of the original house and its style without sacrificing modern amenities. Hand made and hand finished cabinetry, custom trim work inside and out. The Crist House is a masterpiece.
