This completely restored traditional two story frame house embraces the style of a historic house with the comforts of a new home. The front door is accented by two large glass side lights which welcome you to a classic central hall floor plan lined with two sets of resorted French doors, crown molding and custom trim that matches the original design. A 16 ft x 22 ft formal dining room with a pass through fireplace, new kitchen cabinetry and built in breakfront with solid surface counters provide space for formal entertainment and informal living. The master suite occupies almost one half of the upstairs and boasts a large walk in closet, private master bathroom with a corner shower and claw foot soaking tub. The two stair cases, antique mantles, pass through fire place, front and back porches, private parking and 800 sq ft. detached bonus utility/guest house or shop only add to the Neal-Clifton Houses appeal.
Restoration is complete with new double hung vinyl windows, matching the original window style, as well as a new 40 year architectural shingle roof, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, framing, insulation, porch floors and foundation repair, oak floors and many other modern updates bring this house from the 1890’s to the present day. All of the trim has been custom milled onsite. The master carpenter on this restoration project also worked on the NC Capitol Building, governor’s mansion as well as many other notable structures in the Raleigh Metropolitan area.
The Neal-Clifton house is located within blocks of historic downtown Louisburg’s shops, restaurants, Crosscreek Charter School, Franklin Regional Medical Center, Louisburg College, the central branch of the Franklin County Library as well as restaurants, a coffee shop, bookstore, movie theater, dance studio, and retail stores. The historic district of Louisburg, one of the largest in the state, is located on the north side of the Tar River approximately 30 miles northeast of Raleigh.
