Kitchen
Kitchen
This is the kitchen. It was much smaller with a mud room next to it. I took out the two walls and two doors and ran the Cabinets along the outside wall. These are custom footed wood cabinets with glass doors. Granite countertops and a farmsink. All the doors and drawers are touch closed.
Dining Room
Dining Room
After replacing all the ceilings and walls with sheet rock and insulation, I restored the original floor moldings and all of the moldings around the doors and windows. I restored the book shelves and walk through between the dining and living area. The windows are all the original with new ropes and weights. The wood floors are all original. The Hill family had put linoleum on the floors or painted the wood which actual helped to keep them in excellent condition. I added crown molding on the ceilings and added all 1920 lighting in all the rooms. The electric and plumbing in the home is all new including the Central Air conditioning and heat. There was a propane gas heater in the lving area for warmth in the winter. The coal stove was taken out previously but the chimney still remains. There was a window wall unit a/c in th bedroom when I purchased it. I put in a 36 inch crystal chandelier in the dining area which sets off the home beautifully.
Front Sun Porch
Front Sun Porch
The original Bead Board Ceiling with new period lighting lights up this beautiful Sun Porch looking onto Montana Avenue. The previous original owners added the aluminum windows. I had the a/c and heat put onto this porch. It is a wonderful place to have your coffee in the am....or read a nice book in the afternoon.

Cozy Historic Bungalow

This home is a doll house. I fell in love with it the moment I walked through the door even though the ceilings were dropping and the walls were bowed.

It was my pleasure to turn this home into the splendor of its day again.

I gutted all the walls and ceilings first of all. I tore up the floor coverings. I had some windows that were falling apart in the rear of the home removed and had windows that were in the kitchen area moved to the other side of the home in the rear to replace them.
First of all a New cental heating and air conditioning system was put in. A Tankless water heater. The electric and plumbing was totally replaced. The home was professionally insulated from top to bottom. All the windows were repaired and the weights and ropes all redone. I had all the hung screens replaced and repaired. The bathroom has a new sink and toilet with new walls and tile flooring. The bathroom has the original wood door with glass door knobs. A refurbished period lighting fixture is in the bathroom as well. The bedrooms have the original wood framed doors with glass knobs and the original molding around the windows. I also put in crown molding on the ceilings with refurbished period lighting. The dining area has the original floor molding and I addded the crown on the ceilings with a three foot glass chandelier. The kitchen has custom footed feet all wood and painted cottage white cabinets with touch closing. I added a farm sink and granite counter tops. The original wood floors are in the the kitchen. After tearing down the walls and two doors I added on where there was a mud room a place for the wash machine and dryer with shelves for cleaning supplies etc.
The living area has the original front door to match the back kitchen door completely restored and with glass door knobs. The living area has a designer fan and all the wiring is in place for surround sound, alarm system, cable, telephone and internet. A 52 inch flat screen hangs on the wall. The front porch has the original bead board ceiling and the original heart pine wood floors. The previous owners put in aluminum windows on the sun porch to close it in. It has a/c and heat. I never got around to replacing the windows with more stylish windows from the era it was built.
I added a wood deck on the back of the house. The original shed fell down after I bought the place which was darling. I replaced it with a new shed to hold lawn and garden supplies etc.
The original metal roof is still on the house. It is galvanized and it in beautiful condition. No leaks at all and there have never been. This house is a wood structure and after ripping out the walls there are actual two by fours in this house. No termite damage at all. The daughter of the owner, Rita Hill still has a real estate business in downtown New Port Richey. Her son Forest Hill still lives down the street. Please call me with any questions about the house.I believe Lillian still stops in from time to time.
