Family room
Family room
The family room is a spacious, homey area with heart pine floors, and bead board wains-paneling and ceiling. Huge French doors lead to the foyer and other downstairs rooms. It provides access to the kitchen, screened porch, downstairs bath, side porch, foyer and 4th bedroom/office. It has two overhead fans that can be run using the house generator in case of power failure.

Dining Room Fireplace and China Cabinet
Dining Room Fireplace and China Cabinet
This fireplace has a remote controlled gas log. The built in china cabinet is deep plus has two drawers and a closed cabinet on the bottom. The upper doors have original, wavy glass.
Downstairs Full Bath
Downstairs Full Bath
This bath includes the original clawfoot tub that has been resurfaced and still has it's original brass fixtures. The vanity is converted from an antique server. The toilet is original and has a very interesting flush mechanism.
Blue Guest Bedroom
Blue Guest Bedroom
The blue guest bedroom has private access to the hall bath can that turn it into a suite of rooms with a bath. For a two bedroom family suite with a private bath, just open the door between the two guest bedrooms.
The balcony looks out over fields and trees in the distance. There is set up for a hammock and is a great place to laze around, especially in the spring and fall.
Master Bath
Master Bath
The master bath was originally the fourth upstairs bedroom. The bedroom was broken into a large master bath plus a large walk in closet that leads to a second, small walk in, then to attic space with shelves built in. There is a double, walk in, subway tiled shower that includes an overhead wall spray, six body-level spray jets, and a hand-held spray. There is a Solatube that lets natural light into the shower during the day and electric light at night. The toilet is recessed into its own alcove. There are large his and hers vanities linked with a large vanity table. The theraputic Jacuzzi tub is directly across from a fireplace that contains a remote-controlled gas log. There is a second Solatube (with a light and fan) over the tub.
Upstairs foyer/reading area
Upstairs foyer/reading area
There are two huge built in bookcases at the end of the upstairs foyer. They are placed on either side of tall doors/windows that lead out onto the balcony. This cozy area can be used as a small library or sitting/reading area.
Converted oil lamp

There are several original light fixtures, either in the house still being used, or in storage because we prefer ceiling fans in the bedrooms. All will be left for the new owners.
Hall bath
Hall bath

Tranquility - True Southern Elegance

Tranquility was built between 1911 and 1916 by a local planter, Mr Lawrence Bundy. The story is that a share cropper found a chest buried in one of the fields and took it to Mr. Bundy. Inside was reputed to be a small fortune in silver and other valuables that had been hidden from the Yankees during the War of Northern Aggression. Mr. Bundy decided that he wanted a house as fine as the White House (albeit a bit smaller) and had Tranquility built for himself, his wife and their tubercular daughter. Only three families have lived in the house.

Tranquility is a National Register listed Colonial/Greek Revival home with fabulous woodwork (some with faux graining), 10 fireplaces (five with gas logs), family and formal stairs, all thermopane windows (wood inside/vinyl clad outside), some stained glass, original five panel doors (with matching original hardware), two sets of huge working pocket doors, and built-ins in the butler's pantry and dining room. New custom wood storm/screen doors on all but two exterior doors, original ceiling fixtures on site, 10' ceilings downstairs, 9' ceilings upstairs, three full bathrooms, original big clawfoot/pedestal iron tubs, Jacuzzi tub in the master bath, wrought iron fence at front and sides, small and large areas fenced in back for children/dogs. Historic district (no trailers), almost completely renovated interior, huge deep wrap around porch, second-floor porch, screened porch, fully insulated, rewired and replumbed, newer TRANE HVAC with two gas packs and two compressors. Lovely mature landscaping with loads of dogwoods, camellias, hollies, azalea, naturalized oxalis, daffodils, narcissus, daylilies and snow drops, pecan trees, hydrangea, plus many perennials. Five outbuildings: brick gazebo with new roof, 3 room wash house/smoke house, two room cottage (unrestored), peacock house with new roof, two story barn/workshop with three bays. Cable, high-speed DSL, and satellite are available. Town water and sewer, plus a pump/well for watering gardens, etc. Extremely private. Low taxes.

Downstairs: Living room, dining room, kitchen, family room with wide back staircase, laundry/pantry, butler's pantry, music room, office/bedroom, full bathroom, huge foyer with fabulous paneling and moldings, and a large, graceful formal staircase.

Upstairs: Three large bedrooms, hall bath, master bath with Jacuzzi tub, walk-in closets, attic access, wide hallway/library with tall double doors to the upstairs porch/balcony. Original heart pine floors.

Exterior was prepped, primed and painted with two coats of high-quality gloss paint in summer of 2011.

It is very unusual to find an old house in great structural shape with all new systems at a reasonable price. This house has passed three home inspections and appraised for higher than the listed price.
