c. 1835 Tankersly Tavern, a popular watering hole for some of Lexington's most famous residents starting in the 1800 s. On over an acre of prized Rockbridge County acreage with 300 feet of Maury River frontage sitting just on the out skirts of Historic Lexington. On the National Register of Historic Places and a Virginia Historic Landmark, this home has been on the Virginia Garden Week Tour several times. Part of this home was the original toll booth for the Lexington Turnpike into town.
