Historic Home in the Heart of Historic Georgetown!

For nearly a century, visitors have admired this handsome home, designed by Architect ML Waller of Fort Worth. Located on the corner of Ash and 15th Street, shaded by native pecans, this is a beautifully landscaped yard. Built in 1916, by Judge Frank Love, this home evokes the gracious lifestyle of the beginning of the 20th century. The half timber style bungalow is classic, with the wide wrap around porch. Enter through the original wide door with the bevel glass still intact to a formal living space anchored by the original fireplace. flanked by bookcases. Original light fixtures with opaque shades. Long leaf pine floors lead you through the french doors to a formal dining room distinguished by the beamed ceiling, the fabric wainscoting, and a buffet ledge across a bank of windows. The Butler pantry provides additional serving and storage space as you pass through to the kitchen. Granite counters, stainless steel appliances and period green paint on the original cabinets greet you in this country style kitchen.
The main hall leads to two bedrooms with a connecting bath, all decorated meticulously to the period. The bath has the original claw foot tub, bead-board walls, and a pedestal sink.
Upstairs, there are 3 more rooms, currently being used as the master bedroom, a study and a studio. These are spacious rooms with surprisingly large closets off a center hall. Large windows looking into the treetops create a picturesque view. The upstairs bath has an antique vanity with a marble top, a claw foot tub with a skylight above, and a shower. The utility room is off the bath. A small room adjacent to the master is currently being used as a dressing area. This area could be transformed into another bath.

Set amid a spacious garden, this home is widely recognized as one of Georgetown's most important historic homes. The house evokes the gracious lifestyle of the city's elite at the beginning of the 20th century. The back porch is a private respite overlooking the perfectly manicured garden featuring a waterfall into the Koi pond. This area sits adjacent to an arbored walkway covered in lush grapevine to the secluded spot cradling the hot tub. One side is protected by the 4-car garage. A Vegetable garden is getting ready for a bountiful harvest and there is a side yard with a double gate perfect to park a boat, trailer or RV.

This one- and-a-half-story dwelling is significant due to its architecture and association with a prominent individual. Frank Love served as a Williamson County Judge from 1909 - 1929. His wife, Mellie Lockett Love was the daughter of prosperous Dry Goods merchant ,MB Lockett. This is a rare opportunity to own a home that has been thoroughly restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic homes in the Heart of Historic Georgetown.
