Rich Architectural History

Unique home designed in 1939 by local well-known architect Charles Behrensmeyer for his cousin Clarence and wife, Octavia Gerdes. The result was a blend of Behrensmeyers interest in Art Moderne/International architecture and Gerdes practical perspective as an employee of Michelmann Steel Construction Company. This unique home has always piqued interest along this tree-lined boulevard in Quincy's historic district. An addition in the early 1990's expanded the downstairs living space to include a family room with unique ceiling detail along with a spectacular master bathroom on the second floor. Living space includes 3,080 sq. ft. with possible four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. Many charming features throughout. Many built-ins and much storage. Private, serene lot, nearly 1/2 acre.
