Windcrest Pond

Beautifully nestled in a small private valley at the foothills of the Bull Run Mountains, “Windcrest Pond” is located in the highly desireable area in Fauquier County between the villages of The Plains and Middleburg. Enter through impressive stone gate posts up a long private drive that leads to this charming home in a picturesque setting overlooking a large pond. RESIDENCE: The original log and stone section of the house dates back to 1790. Over the years, owners have enlarged and updated the house. Although it has been expanded, meticulous care was given to preserve the workmanship and character of the older sections of the house.

First Floor: A reconfiguration of two original rooms brings about a generous and light filled entrance way. The formal Living Room is now open to the Foyer area. A separate doorway from the Living Room provides another way into the light filled Sun Porch with a wall of windows overlooking the pond and mountains beyond.

From the Den is the spacious Gourmet Kitchen with granite counter tops, custom cabinetry and large island with double sink. The kitchen opens into the Breakfast Area with bay window and French doors to the flagstone terrace. Off the kitchen is the Mudroom/Laundry Room with boot sink and separate Pantry. Just beyond is the attached two-car Garage.

Second Floor: From the Family Room is a sweeping staircase leading to the second floor with an open landing showcasing a built-in stain glass panel. A small hallway past many closets leads to the Master Bedroom with three walls of exposed stone and a wood burning fireplace. The Master Bath, which has been recently updated, features his and her sinks and a separate room with the bath tub/shower and toilet. Off the Master Bedroom down a private hallway are a Full Bath and another room which can be used as a Guest Bedroom, Office or Dressing Room. To the left of the landing are two more Guest Bedrooms which share a Full Bath and a large carpeted Recreation Room over top of the garage.

LOWER LEVEL: From a staircase off the Family Room is the finished basement with a large open room with bamboo flooring, built-in bookshelves and a doorway leading out to a flagstone terrace. In addition, there is a small Guest Bedroom and Full Bath. This walkout level provides a separate entrance ideal for a nanny or in-law suite. Other additional storage space completes this level.
