John Mercer Langston's School House
This building was built in the late 1800's by John Mercer Langston. This school was the first to be built for the African Americans here in Mo. it has a lot of history to it.
The original chalkboard that was used for the classes, which held 60 students in each classroom. The names are of the students that attended and was on honor roll.
This is a side view of the school which can be seen from East Stone street.
This is a picture of the front of the school house, which can be seen on Kennet st.
