Large eat-in country kitchen with pantry. Kitchen cabinets include old tilt-out flour bin. Utility room with washer/dryer connections. One room could potentially serve as a fourth bedroom, but does not have a closet. The home does have six other closets, including a linen closet and a sweetly quirky closet under the stairs. Rocking-chair front porch with a place for a swing to leisurely sit and enjoy a cool breeze and a tall glass of iced tea on a hot summer day. Sunroom-type back porch to fill with plants. Exterior has its original wooden clapboard siding--no vinyl here!! All four windows in the front two rooms are original to the 1891 construction. Some doors are original to 1891, along with their porcelain knobs and thumb-bolt locks, complete with skeleton keys. There is a concrete pad for a detached garage or shop, with 220 wiring available. There is also an extra septic tank.

This rural property is ideally located only minutes from the outstanding outdoor recreational opportunities offered by Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley State Resort Park, and Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. It is about 1.5 hours from the country music capital of Nashville, TN. In addition, Murray State University, rated by US News as one of the top public universities in the nation, is only 35 miles away. The Boots Randolph Golf Course is within 10 min., as is the charming town of Cadiz, KY. Cadiz is the home of several antique stores, the Trigg County Country Ham Festival held every October, the Janice Mason Art Museum, and a lovely city park on the banks of the Little River, complete with walking trail. Cadiz also participates in the 400 Mile Yard Sale. In addition, this small town consistently provides impressive, nationally-recognized, community-wide support for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

This home has been owned, occupied, and loved by members of the same family since prior to 1930.
