The home was built in 1854 by Asa Rowe, founder of one of the local towns and one of the first nurseryman of the area. The architect was famed architect Merwin Austin. Both men can be found on the internet.

There are 4 one bedroom apartments in the main front part of the home. The tenants enter through the front door foyer. Each apartment has two entrances, one in the living room and one in the kitchen, off the main hallway. The apartments have large living rooms, bedrooms, eat-in kitchens and full baths. they are all cable ready. The owners rent out three of the apartments at $450/month excluding utilities. The fourth they keep empty for visiting guests.The apartments have separate heat, electrical and hot water tanks. The heat is propane for the apartments as well as the hot water tanks. All are separated. There are 6 meters for each section of the home.
The owner occupied area of the home off the back of the house is primarily heated by the wood stove. The second story is propane, the first floor is oil and wood stove or can be propane as well.
This property has an amazing attic. Large, with the widow's walk in the center providing light. The attic is an open space, one room, no walls. Frieze windows are located at the floor of the attic. It has brick walls. It is tall enough to walk in standing upright.
The basement is a full basement with 8 ft high ceilings. Many rooms with dirt or cement floors. Is dry!!
