The wrap-around porch has a concrete decking for easy maintenance. Relax after a hard days work in the front porch swing or in your favorite rocking chair, as the first owner did years ago. Entry is obtained from this porch into the large center hallway that offers the first glimpse of the stained moldings and original millwork, as well as the rooms accessed from this area. The living room/parlor is directly on the left side upon entering. An oak mantel with a tiled hearth and surround is a focal point for the gas logs in the fireplace. A projecting bay with 2 over 2 windows is located at the front of this spacious room. The two bedrooms are accessed from the right side of the hallway. They both have fireplaces and are large in size.

The master bedroom connects to its own bathroom that features a claw-foot tub that has been outfitted with a shower. The other bath is accessed from the central hallway. The dining room is an exceptionally good size and entry is also from the central hallway. There's a fireplace here also and a nice sized closet for storage.

The dine-in kitchen is entered from the dining room area. There's a unique and antique collectible wood burning and gas combination range & oven here that will remain with the house. (In case of a power outage, a fire in the woodstove would most certainly come in handy!) An original Hoosier style cabinet remains with the house also. An old fashioned walk-in panty connects to the kitchen.

A laundry room and a delightful sunroom line the rear of the house. The sunroom is separately heated and cooled with a gas wall unit. Outside, fenced back yard living space can be accessed through the sunroom. There's room for a vegetable/flower garden in this area. Also there's two storage buildings available, one attached and one unattached. The attached building or garden shed is octagonal in shape & has a turreted roof line.

The outside of the cottage features saw-tooth shingled gables and bracketed post on the front porch. Storm doors and storm windows have been added. The furnace is not yet one year old. Off street parking is at the side of the house.

This home is located in beautiful West Square Historic District and is less than a 5 minute stroll to the center of downtown Salisbury where you'll find 75 shops and 15 restaurants. A variety of churches are also in the walking area, as is the public library. Salisbury is a historic city of about 28,000 and is located about half way between the cities of Charlotte and Winston Salem and Greensboro, North Carolina.
