A Rare Find

A Victorian Mansion
A Victorian Mansion
Listed the National Register of Historic Places and Featured on pages 120 & 121 in the Book Erie Canal Legacy, Architectural Treasures of the Empire State.
This Victorian Mansion built in 1877 by O.W. Burritt, an inventor, hardware merchant, manufacturer and leader in the Weedsport community, retains it’s old world character and original splendor. Architecturally intact, this home features century old wallpaper, 10-foot high ceilings, pressed cork wainscoting and sliding pocket doors. Original interior wooden shutters are intact and fancy hand-cut moldings gleam throughout the house. A Porte Cochere sits on the west side of the residence next to the solarium and screened porch. Moorish influence is represented in the Carriage House located at the back of the property.
