The Michael Rugh House - built of local rough-cut sandstone by a prominent Westmoreland Co. statesman circa 1790. Located on 3 beautifully landscaped acres in a private setting and meticulously restored to original condition.
Unique historic stone home located convenient to the major city of Pittsburgh. Built circa 1790 by prominent Westmoreland County attorney and statesman Michael Rugh, who brought the architectural plans back from Philadelphia after serving as a State Representative.
Rough-cut local sandstone exterior with layout and design, features and paint colors all restored to the original on both exterior and interior. Living Room, Dining Room, Den and Master Suite incorporated into original stone structure. Original hand-forged hardware, wide-plank flooring, front entry door and summer kitchen with walk-in fireplace have been retained and restored.

Many of the original 19th century features have been retained and used in the restoration. The front door of the home is capped by the original transom glass and the original hand-forged hardware is still attached. Original wide-plank flooring, original hardware in the summer kitchen fireplace, original paint colors and window designs have all been restored.
