Victorian Showcase with Ageless Dignity

S.O. Russell House built Circa 1888. This showplace with timeless elegance was recognized in "Leslie--A Place in Time" as historic. Mr. S.O. Russell was one of Leslie's most notable citizens and has been mentioned in many history books.

The exterior of the home is handsome brick-solid. It is maintenance-free and in pristine condition.
The brick was kiln right on the property and is similar to the Church's bricks right next door to the home.

The interior is stunningly decorated and its beauty has increased for over 120 years. This home reflects a time when American craftsmen did not know the meaning of compromise. The exceptional woodwork has been lovingly polished and is brimming with exquisite details. There are two massive pocket doors leading you into the two parlors.

Every room is filled with classic appointments that reflect memories of workmanship and pride. The ornate front door boasts stain glass and wood that has been refinished to an exacting standard with a unique design and hand carvings.

The three exterior porches offer a heart-stirring warmth that will win you over. All the front windows have stain glass with the exception of the sewing room, and there is an inviting interior balcony upstairs which is connected to the master bedroom.

The built-in china cabinet, marbleized fireplace, outstanding bow window, and butler pantry in the kitchen leading through to parlor/dining room reflects old-fashioned space and grace. There is a convenient main-floor laundry, beautiful hardwood floors, and two stairways---one leading to the maid's room which has been carefully restored to its original charm.

The grounds are impeccably landscaped and there is a wonderful privacy fence encapsulating a small courtyard between the house and oversized 2 1/2 car detached garage with its own 60 amp electric.

-- New boiler in 2006 -- steam/radiator heat
-- Support columns have been installed under the house.
-- All the porches have been rebuilt
