Absolutely beautiful renovation of 100 year old Greek Revival home. The house belonged to a doctor in the early 1900's. The current owners spared no expense and did a wonderful job modernizing this home while maintaining is original beauty, architecture, and charm.The interior walls are all wood, tongue and groove. There are large pocket doors in the dining room and parlor. Other rooms have original pine doors. The kitchen is complete with nice cabinets and granite countertops. The dining room includes a fireplace and unique cofered ceiling. The master bedroom includes a large bathroom with granite countertops, claw-foot tub, tile shower and huge walk-in closet. Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms and a very large bathroom with shower and claw-foot tub. Large foyer upstairs leads out to balcony overlooking the sodded front yard. The fixtures are very nice and the door knobs to this home are all original and funtional. Exterior walls were re-insulated during the remodel. Outside there is a detached 2 car garage and a porch/deck on the rear of the house. There is approximately 3.5 additional acres that could be purchased seperately.
This property is located in beautiful Madison County in the small town of Colbert which is on the outskirts of Athens. Athens is the home of the University of Georgia and located less than 2 hours from Atlanta.
