A once in a lifetime property with many possibilities

The original Richmondville Firehouse and one time upholstery workroom is situated on a large corner lot with a waterfall and creek at the back of the building. New custom made carriage doors have brought the front of the building back to it's former glory. The windows on the first and second floors have all been replaced with high quality energy efficient models duplicating the originals. The structure was made sound, damaged siding replaced and exterior scraped, cleaned and repainted.

The interior has completely new insulation, wiring, plumbing and paint. The heating system is a highly efficient electric system by Ecotherm and hot water is on demand electric. Richmondville creates it's own electricity that is far more economical than electricity is for the rest of NY state. Original wood floors in the upstairs living space were cleaned, sanded and tung oiled to retain their original character.

The bedroom suite has upholstered walls and a walk-through dressing room with open closet leading to a large master bath. Vanity is a 1800's french washstand, bathtub is antique copper and the shower is pebble tile with a large copper sunflower showerhead. Washer/dryer were installed in the bathroom for easy access. Fixtures are exposed copper with whimsical outdoor faucets and the floor is stenciled.

The efficient galley kitchen has all new stainless appliances, long soapstone counters and a large stainless sink. A small room off the kitchen with original built cupboard serves as a pantry and leads to the powder room.

Salvaged material was used wherever possible to retain the historical flavor of the building.
