The town has about 1600 people and an active senior population. It is just minutes from a 20000 acre lake (Reelfoot Lake) with some of the best hunting and fishing in the south. Memphis is approxiatemately 100 miles south for shopping, pro sports, theaters, museums, blues music, and of course Elvis Presley's Graceland. Also the county has a annual Arts and Crafts Festival that brings crafters of all kinds from all over the country to sell and display their crafts. Ridgely is a great place to raise a family or just want a quiet, slow paced place to retire. Despite the age of the house it is structurally sound. The fuse box has been replaced recently with a breaker box and much of the house wiring is new. One of the three bathrooms has been remodeled recently that goes with the feel of the house perfectly. The kitchen has been updated with elegantly painted cabinets that have been trimed out with beautiful crown molding and new laminate flooring (light wood).
