Clarkesville, Georgia 30523
The Hoopty - Do
This is the Old Lovell Home as it stood in Spring 2008. The house was originally built in 1924 but has been "remodeled" and added to every couple of decades until the original house was so disguised, it was hard to see.
Circa 1924 Old Lovell Home

This view shows more of the original shotgun style with the craftsman bungalow influences characteristic of the area and time. There are many very similar old houses all throughout north Georgia's historic little towns. The hip roof covered the original house. Additions were added over the years.

Demolition began in June. All of the layers have now been removed and we have begun building back.

This fireplace was hidden behind a paneled wall in a bedroom, covered most likely in the 1970s . In the remodel it will be in the kitchen.
