The General`s Mansion is a piece of history. This circa 1874 Second Empire style home located in the resort village of Cape Vincent was formerly the residence of General Delos B. Sackett, and frequented by generals and presidents of the civil war era. In 1985 this historic home was added to The National Register of Historic Places.

Historic General's Mansion
Enter the house from the 1800 square foot wrap around porch. From the foyer with its magnificent sweeping stairway, you can access the formal dining room with crystal chandelier and marble fireplace, or the double parlor with ornate ceiling medallions, built in bookcases and original crown molding. The library is adorned with hand-carved antique walnut woodwork. The eat-in kitchen has an island, double ranges and a back stairway to the second floor. The second floor has five bedrooms all decorated in period style and two full baths. The third floor has a full bath, four more bedrooms and comfortable sitting area. The four stall carriage house garage has electricity and an unfinished second floor.
