City tax records are incorrect for house information.History
Phillips Farm House was originally built C. 1820 for the family of John T. Phillips. It is on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places with no restrictions. It is currently the only documented clerestory house in the City of Suffolk. The house has been built in three stages: original house in 1820s, the back in 1848 and the addition on the back in 2010.
The house was restored over a two year period 1982-84 after 10 years of neglect and disrepair. The historical integrity of the house was not compromised by the restoration. It has been immaculately maintained..
The Bickham family has resided at the property for 40 years raising children, horses, cats, dogs and various other animals. They are only selling the home to move closer to their children and other family members.
