About our gracious home

This beautifully restored 6 BR, 5 bath Victorian home sits on 5+ acres with numerous oak and pecan trees. It is constructed from heart pine cut from the original 483 acre estate. The National Register has classified our home as a Carpenter Eclectic Victorian with Eastlake and Queen Anne elements. All interior door hardware and colored glass windows are intact. This elegant home has been completely restored inside and out with period colors, wallpaper, curtains, furniture and other décor.

When we purchased our home in 2002, our vision was to return the home to its original beauty and to operate a successful B&B and event center. We have accomplished and thoroughly enjoyed our endeavors. Although we have enjoyed the past 13 years operating our home as a B&B we have reached a point in our life where we have decided to move on to a more relaxed life style. We have decided to offer our home at a drasticly reduced price.

The original home was built in 1893, then added to in 1903. The exterior trims have been scraped and repainted with the original paint scheme of the home. The downstairs has double parlors, a center hall, two bedrooms and two baths, large formal dining room, butler’s pantry, updated kitchen and a sun porch. The mouldings and wainscoting are outstanding throughout the entire home.

The upstairs has a center hall, four bedrooms and three baths. An additional room adjoins the largest bedroom and can create an expansive living area. This room also opens to the second story gazebo, or belvedere as they were once called. This could make a beautiful and roomy master suite.

When altering our home for use as a B&B, we converted 2 bedroom closets into bathrooms. Alterations were made only on the closet floors and those alterations can easily and inexpensively be repaired should the new owners decide to return the home to its original design as a single family home.

Even though our home is extremely comfortable as a private residence, it is a prime piece of property that can be used as a B&B and expanded to an event center. The property includes two outbuildings adjacent to the house, an old tobacco barn and the carriage house.

Moultrie is a growing city in need of a facility that can provide weddings and related activities, private parties, and many other functions in the medium to upper price range.

We will consider selling select furnishings and many items associated with operating a B&B. Also available for purchase is a tractor and mowing equipment. A list of these items as well as upgrades to the property will be provided upon request.
