1907 Neoclassical Revival

305 East Union Street
Vienna, Georgia

Stovall-Woodward-Gregory House

Ever heard the saying: “North is a direction, the South is a lifestyle” and desired a genteel pace, small-town values, a one-traffic light community, a spacious home with double front parlors and pocket doors, then this century home is for you.

Grand, but not intimidating, you can make cheese straws in the kitchen and serve them on the large back deck or in the detached screen porch. Lavishly entertain, or make it private and cozy. There is a flexible space on the first floor with ensuite for a downstairs bedroom. The plantings on the sides and rear yard will give your inner Gardener a playground. Currently used as an office with discreet extra parking. There are a few whimsical features—like a pet entrance from a fenced side yard hidden in cabinetry and an attic accessible “Widow’s Walk”. Two blocks from the courthouse square. Slightly over 2 miles to Interstate 75,

More About This House

This home has had foam insulation added as well as storm windows. The water heater is a gas on-demand system. There are 5 units for heating and air conditioning (several that have had little use). There is a well on the property for irrigation. The cooktop in the kitchen is electric, but there is a gas connection behind the cabinetry. The owner states all the pocket doors are operable and that there is no lead nor asbestos in the home. There are also exhaust fans in the attic that automatically come on when the temperature reaches 90 degrees. There are 9 fireplaces in the home, however, they were built to provide coal sourced heat, so only the gas fireplace in family room is operable.

History

The home was built by Dr. C.T. Stovall in 1907 on the site named Whitehall. Senator and Mrs. Walter F. George lived in the home briefly before selling to Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Woodward. Members of the Gregory family have owned the home since 1992.
