History

Designed by the esteemed architect Charles H. Smith of New York and built in 1893 for attorney Craig A. Marsh.

After changing hands multiple times over the years, previous owners poured lots of TLC back into the home by restoring it to its original beauty. This included scraping down to find the first coats of paint applied to the exterior of the home. Much time and fortune was spent to glorify the interior by restoring the multiple stained-glass windows around the home. The original cast-iron radiators had been sanded and painted to rejuvenate an authentic characteristic in the home.

Upon entering through the open wrap-around porch, the minstrel balcony is at the landing of the grand staircase in the turret. The woodwork was built with acoustics in mind for purposes of entertaining so that the singer or poet could be heard by guests in the 1st floor living room & den while being hidden out of sight.
