Built by Ernest A. MacKay, a prosperous citizen of Seattle, this gorgeous Queen Anne, with its three-story turret, was purchased by William H. Thompson in 1897. Thompson, a man noted for his oratory skills and literary writings, lived in the home until 1927. At one time, before conversion back to a single-family residence, the home served as a boarding house, and local rumor has it that Jack Benny's mother lived in the home at that time.
