Martha Mitchell House & Museum (Watergate Whistleblower)

The first real "Whistle Blower" in Washington D.C. was Martha Mitchell. Former President Richard Nixon stated on National TV, if it hadn't been for Martha, there would not have been a Watergate.
Added to National Register of Historic Places in January 1976. The house was built by Calvin and Sallie Ferguson, Martha’s maternal grandparents, from South Carolina.
The two story Victorian Queen Ann House has 14 rooms. It has wraparound porches on the ground floor and two porches on the second floor enhanced with ornamental fretwork. Some of the furnishings are original to the Ferguson Family and date from 1920-1930. A beautiful large portrait of Martha Mitchell watches over her home and is included along with much more. The Home contains many historical items, i.e Martha's wedding dress, school diploma, teenage bed room suit, a DVD of the "Martha Speaking" Play, and a DVD of the Martha Mitchell Documentary.
Located in the Pine Bluff Historical District, thousands of school children and people from all ages have toured this home. In addition, hundreds more have precious memories of weddings, receptions, teas, and showers that took place in the vintage Victorian Design with gingerbread wood work throughout.
The property includes three connecting vacant lots, a double carriage house, a small apartment next to the Play House, and a separate one bed room house with a large yard.
Come look and inspect it, this is a one of a kind Historical Museum Home / Property.
