Lillian became the 1st and only female Lake County Sheriff, during this time was the unfortunate event of the famous Dillinger Escape. Lillian took this role filling her husbands shoes who was killed in the line of duty. Over the many years Lillian loved Crown Point and the history of the great town. She personally paid to have the clocks in the Court House tower back to working order, convinced a friend to donate the Homestead house to the city, personal furnished the home and gave tours to children explaining the Homestead home. Prior to her death in 1994, Lillian put her life long stamp on this town not only as the sheriff but for having the Historical District this home is Located in Named after her family. This home holds a lot of history to it for the City of Crown Point.�
