More About This House

The Wright Inn and Carriage House is superbly restored to the era in which it was built. A successful, long established 11 room Bed and Breakfast. Located on a spacious corner lot in the Montford Historic District of Asheville, NC., a quiet residential street. The Historical Trolley Tour stops in front of the Inn several times a day for guests to ride into downtown restaurants and shops.

Our official "National Register of Historical Places Designation", in addition to our local county historical designation allows a 45% reduction in property taxes, currently a $556k reduction.

The Inn runs efficiently with only 2 owners and 2 part-time housekeepers.

A large adjacent residence is also available as a potential owners quarters. This home is a separate purchase from the Inn. Innkeepers and family can lead separate lives away from the main Inn while not having to share a kitchen, den, etc.

History

The wonderful Queen Ann Victorian was designed by George Barber, an American architect made famous for designing homes of the Era. He marketed his plans worldwide. Over four dozen of Barbers houses are individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Wright Inn is one of them. Followers of Barbers designs often come by for a visit to see this Historic property.

Recent Improvements

There have been many ongoing improvements over the years, the Inn is in excellent condition with no deferred maintenance issues. The owners have lovingly cared for the property and buildings during their tenure as owners of the Inn.

All three floors of the Inn have their own central heat and air-conditioning. All new water lines in the Inn and Carriage House.

Slate room on Inn never needs replacement.
