More About This House

This historically significant, Federal style home was built just prior to the Civil War by the founder of Clinton, Iowa, Elijah Buell, for his daughter - circa.1849 according to the Abstract. This home sits on a double corner lot in a beautiful neighborhood, with a large side yard, with trees such as Oak, Black Walnut and Green Apple. It has a newer roof and a brand new electrical box in the cellar, and storm windows. From the second story you can see the Mississippi river. The neighborhood is family friendly and the area has many remodeled, nice homes. Eagle Point Park is only a mile away as is the center of Lyons, Main Ave shops and restaurants. The foundation is limestone, and the brick on three sides is in good condition. It does need some brick repair on the north side will cost about $1500. The home is only two hours from the heart of Chicago and near enough to Lincoln Hwy, which makes it an ideal location for a bed and breakfast.
