Trolleyview Farm

Beautiful older home in the Village of Goshen with it's original wood floors and original 6' windows downstairs in Dining Room, Living Room and Library/Study. The house also has it's original plaster walls and ceilings downstairs.
Gorgeous full size fireplace with iron crane in Den (approx.1740). A hand painted mural graces the wall of the staircase featuring buildings of Goshen. There is beautiful molding
work in the kitchen and living room/dining room.
The property was originally a dairy farm. It was named Trolleyview Farm from when the trolley travelled from Goshen to Middletown at the turn of the century. The property is right next to the Heritage trail for hiking and bike riding. It is conveniently located within walking distance to the middle of the village.
Goshen village is building a brand new library set to open Spring 2019 and also boasts a Farmer's Market during the warmer months, the Great American Weekend, the Goshen Historic Track and Museum, Salesian Park, and future location of Legoland! Goshen is easily commutable to New York City via Coach bus, New Jersey Transit train or car.

Surrounding Area

The village of Goshen is a beautiful rural/suburban area known for it's horse and dairy farms. Goshen is the original site of the trotter horse races. Racing still happens during the Great American Weekend. You can see the trotters exercising on the track throughout the year. We are centrally located with easy access to Orange Regional Medical Center, Touro College, Mount Saint Mary College, The Galleria at Crystal Run and Woodbury Commons. Legoland is presently being built within the Town of Goshen!

History

The house was originally a full two story house with a walk up attic. A previous owner (Ma Ryerson) decided to update. The contractors tore off the top story and built a 1/2 story in it's place around the late 1950's. My husband and I spent several days looing up the history of the house and were able to go back to 1840. After that, the records were so confusing due to all the development in the area.

Recent Improvements

The house boasts a kitchen featuring cherry wood cabinetry and granite countertops renovated around nine years ago. The stainless steel appliances are from October 2018.

New windows have been installed in both downstairs and up.

New bathroom installed last May 2018 featuring marble floorings, large closets, new tub, vanity, toilet, mirrors and light fixtures.

Brand new driveway from May 2018.

Chimneys have been repointed and capped with bluestone. The foundation has also been repointed.
