Built in 1893, this beautiful home is described by the Maryland Historic Trust, as one of the most elaborate Victorian Buildings in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. Located on Maryland's beautiful "Eastern Shore", it is only a 35-minute drive to Annapolis,MD.,and a one hour commute to Washington DC or Baltimore.The house sits upon its original footprint. A huge semicircular porch greets you with a copper roof and two paddle fans. As you enter the front double doors you are immediately struck by the beauty of a foyer that contains the original wooden spiral staircase and curved stain glass windows. Down the center hall you find the living room, dining room, family room, as well as the newly renovated kitchen to the rear. The first floor rooms boast 11 ft. ceilings and are separated by large pocket- doors. There are fireplaces in the family room and dining room that have elaborate ornate mantels.There is a beautiful Faux fireplace in the living room.A curved leaded glass sun room with the original tile floor is just off the living room. A built-in oak bar is equipped with a copper sink and mini fridge.
The second floor features a large sitting area at the top of the staircase and two master suites,each with beautiful fireplace mantels and period decoration. The master sitting area is situated within the glass turret at the southern end of the second floor and features original,built-in window seating. Two master baths both have claw-foot tubs, and heated ceramic tile floors. At the end of the second-floor hall is the original maid's room, which now serves as a personal gym. The third floor offers three additional bedrooms,a bath. There is a large fourth room on the third floor that is currently used as an office. The house has a large partial basement with a wine cellar. Utilities include a stand by generator, gas water heater, gas furnace and heat pump for 100% central air conditioning.
