Post-Civil War built- Farmhouse - NOT FOR SALE
This post-Civil War farmhouse was built by freed slaves in 1865. It is located within the same county as the 'famed' KunteKinte who was on a plantation within 4 miles of this house. This famous slave, was from the Waller plantation, in the hit book movie, "Roots", within the state of Virginia.Current owners are the fourth owners of the house. It has been surveyed by the county historical organization, with documents in the area. There are three outbuildings, a barn, storage/soil shed, and greenhouse.
The garden is positioned on the southside of the home, which has been used to grow vegetables since Civil War time, and currently is used today.
It sits' on 4 acres, with full fields on both sides of the home.
It was mature trees, one of which is over 200 yrs old. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, Living area, Office area with wood stove, Sun room, kitchen and screened in back porch. There is also an original double fireplace that connects the downstairs and upstairs rooms.
