About this home...

This 1920's home is located in Sylvania, Georgia which is centrally located between Augusta and Savannah. Screven County is one of the 10th largest counties in Georgia with just 15,374 in population. The school system is excellent where AP Calculus students have a 100% passing rate on the AP exam. Sylvania is the county seat with 2,675 in population for the city. Other towns in Screven County include Hiltonia, Newington, Oliver, and Rocky Ford. Sylvania has just recently completed at $1.5 million renovation to the downtown area which includes underground utilities, new sidewalks, a beautiful park and fountain, and new facades for the historic downtown buildings. The house that is featured above (known in town as the Howard home)is within walking distance to the beautifully renovated downtown area which can be viewed at www.screvencounty.com website. The Howard home has so much character and history within its walls that one can easily detect its rich heritage just from Main Street. Today it is the talk of the town with its new paint color and renovations to the interior and exterior of the home. During the renovation, it was extremely important to me to preserve the heritage of this home by keeping any and everything that was original in the home. I also purchased three mantles that came out of the 1907 Thompson Funeral Home which was torn down in the 1990's. Each mantel is a rare find and shows so much character in the wood! They are simply stunning.

Vintage Barn

This home features an old barn/storage building with original patterned tin roof. One side is perfect for gardening tools and storage. It has a small room in the back for additional storage. The other side is perfect for a small car, motorcycle, lawn equipment, and a workshop or hobby area.
