Come home to East Texas
This house was built in Tyler, 20 miles from Brownsboro, in what is known as the Azalea District. In 1976 it was moved to this location and the second story was left behind. The resulting house uses what was the library (with built in bookcase and fireplace) as the master bedroom, what was the dining room (with transom window and a door to the outside) as a bedroom, what was the keeping room off the kitchen as the family/dining room, and the sunny windows all around sun room as a bedroom.Siding, roof, electrical, plumbing, leveling, ductwork and water heater are all new within the last five years.
The ceilings are 12' high, and most of the windows (many with the original hand blown glass) are 2 X 8 feet- alot in pairs. Three french doors, transom windows, a claw foot tub, and original pine and oak floors are some of the many features of this fine little home.
Outside, the land is mostly wooded with large pines and century oaks. Smaller plants include wisteria, redbud, ferns and chinaberries.
At the back of the lot is a 50 X 200' spring fed pond with fish and turtles.
There is a small vegetable garden just off the sun room.
