A nice place to live

Founded in 1904 when the King Ranch brought the railroad to South Texas, Kingsville is a winter destination for many people because of the mild winter climate and easy access to the beach, fishing, golf courses and hunting camps.
This house is in the central historic district. More information on Kingsville can be found on this website: Historic Downtown Kingsville Texas

Built for the warm South Texas climate in the days before air conditioning, the house has a wrap-around porch facing the prevailing breeze. The 11' high ceilings allowed the heat to rise and the transoms allowed the breezes to pass through the house and whisk away the hot air.

The house has been updated with complete rewiring, new light fixtures and ceiling fans, all new plumbing and fixtures, foundation work, new roof, new central heating and air conditioning installed, insulated attic and fenced yard. Extensive landscaping has been completed with an emphasis on water-wise and native plants that attract birds and butterflies.
