The Himes-Griffin House Grande Old Dame of Tampa

This architectural masterpiece was built for John Himes from 1909-1911 and lived there about 3 years when the Griffin Family purchased it. The present owner is the fifth owner, it is he who restored it to its original grandeur with 2006 sophistication. The house has great history and great bones.

The Himes-Griffin House The Grande Old Dame of Tampa
Magnificent Mansion located in middle of Tampa's Historic District. Sensitively restored to its original splendor. Suited for traditional family and large scale entertaining. The third floor ballroom speaks to this elegance. The kitchen was connected to the house in the 1940's according to a family member who grew up there. She said Father ordered the connection when food was not hot when it arrived at the table. ( "That does it, we're connecting the kitchen to this house." And, so it was done.) The granite window sills and lentils are solid supports for the home.Archived in August, 2011
