Charming Federal Historic Home

This historic home is located in Manchester, West St.Louis County, Missouri. The story of this unique home began in 1832 when the Tumilty family immigrated from Ireland. Hugh Tunilty purchased the land and built the original two room log cabin with a dog trot between the rooms. Other rooms were added in 1845. Filled with historic ambiance and classical features, this two story is captivating from the formal dining room and living room to the second floor bedrooms, sun porch and stairways. The 3+ acres of ground with creek provide the beautiful, serene setting for the home, original brick smoke house, large barn, and potting shed. Only five families have owned this home and for the most part their changes and updates were executed with an effort to maintain the integrity and character of the structure. The current family ; after researching the property, exposed the original log walls in the family room. Large windows, the original glass panes remain. There are high ceilings, two fireplaces, wood floors, federal style mouldings and trim with a curved walnut railing on the stair case.
