The Old Cheely Plantation Home is in Old James Ga. 4 miles out side of Gray.The house is being completely remodeled it includes new windows, siding, totally insulated.It has crown molding in all the rooms and features original hard wood floors as well as original light fixtures which are dated the late 1890's and are one of a kind.The bathrooms and kitchen are ceramic tiled.It also includes original barn,smoke house,and a little house out back which was considered the cook's house, it also has the first original well on side porch out back.The front porch runs the front of house with original ginger bread/ Victorian wood work around top, flooring of front porch has been completely re-braced and new tongue and grove put down,and of course enjoy the swing.With a large country custom kitchen. There are fireplaces in living room dinning room and master bedroom that are perfect for gas logs. Jamestown Ga. was established in 1844 there are several old homes,as well as an old store in the middle of town. The house was built by the James' and then sold to the Cheely's in the early 1930's. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place to call home.
