Taylor Hall, its double verandas overlooking the expansive lawn and oak woods beyond . . .
Built of native heart pine in 1825 by Creek Indians for Dr. Robert N. Taylor, a young physician from Orange County, Virginia, Taylor Hall is brimming with history. Constructed during the presidency of James Monroe, it remains a secluded respite from the 21st Century but with all the modern conveniences--the best of both worlds. There are 3 large bedrooms and 3 full baths, 1 down and 2 up. Custom period window treatments complement the double-hung Architectural Pella windows with "invisible" screens (2008). On Spring and Fall days, enjoy cool breezes through the open windows. Two energy-efficient HVAC systems keep the home cool in summer, warm in winter. Utilities are very reasonable. The parlor has a large wood-burning fireplace. The three bedrooms each have a large fireplace with ventless gas logs. The eat-in kitchen features a stainless steel Samsung range and French door refrigerator, and Bosch D/W--all new in 2014. Double "Coffin Doors" open from the center hallways on both floors to rocking-chair verandas.
Taylor Hall is a thoughtfully restored Antebellum Plantation home on three fenced, park-like acres in Hawkinsville, Georgia. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Pick juicy POMEGRANATES from your own backyard tree!

Down the lane from Taylor Hall is a renovated 1940's tongue & groove, 1-bed/1-bath Guest House with central heat & air. Named Tea Cottage, it holds fairy tale memories for scores of little girls who enjoyed dress-up tea parties in this cozy cottage in the woods. Ideal for a mother-in-law suite or home-based business. It has separate utilities.

On the property are several outbuildings: a pint-sized chicken-coop, Banty Shanty; a small Amish-built, wired barn/shop; a two-stall horse barn with attic; two large kennels presently used for storage; and a wired greenhouse. Also there is a 3-stall carport.

Hawkinsville is a friendly little town where you can walk to the post office, library, churches, Pulaski County Courthouse, antique mall, restaurants, shops, pharmacies, auto dealership, historic active Opera House--and more. It's a 5-minute drive (or less) to the Ocmulgee River boat launch and park, garden center, supermarket, hardware store, dentists, physicians, regional hospital, cancer center, wellness center, walking trail-- and a world class meat market.

Horses and their trainers come from all over the U.S. and Canada to train annually from October to April at the Harness Horse Training facility. The Hawkinsville Harness Festival is a family-friendly event held in the Spring.

Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson IAP is two hours away. (A limo service is available from Taylor Hall to the airport terminal.) We are three hours to both the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It's a 20-minute drive to I-75 and 30 minutes to Robins Air Force Base and The Museum of Aviation, the second largest in the U.S. Air Force.
