Metuchen's first public library goes Green and EnergyStar

This is the first public library after it was moved to Hillside avenue, Metuchen
Historical info: 23 Washington was built in 1899 and was the first public library of Metuchen.
We have renovated this house to be Green and Energy efficient.
Energy Star info:
Heating System
Entirely new high efficiency heating system imported from Germany. The Energy Star boiler is manufactured in Germany by Buderus. The radiators, pex and brass fittings are manufactured in Germany by Viega. This entire system will be connected to a computer to regulate the outside temperature, the thermostats and the amount of water flowing through the radiators. This eliminates the slow reaction times on "cold spell" days during the transition from fall to winter and spring to summer. This system uses far less energy to run and heat your home which means a cost savings during these cold days; and of course, it is radiant.

Central Air System

This Energy Star central air system is equipped with I call the Allergy package; which is Lennox' "PureAir" air purification system and Lennox' "Healthy Climate UV Germicidal lights". Basically, triple filters and a UV ray to eliminate contaminants. For detailed information about the micron level and mold/bacteria elimination capacity go to
