Designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Bowling Green Farm is one of the oldest original homes in Virginia.
Nestled on 126 acres among 270-year-old English boxwood shrubs, colonial garden terraces, a holly allee and mature hardwoods with 80 acres of woodland beyond, the perfectly preserved and restored pre-Georgian brick and clapboard Tidewater colonial farmhouse is private, while a mere 20 minutes from Fredericksburg, 30 minutes from Richmond and one hour from Washington, DC.
The gorgeous bowling green lawn remains an unchanged attribute of the estate as in the time of visits by notable figures such as George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
