In 1997 this home suffered a tragic fire which called for a complete rebuilding of the interior. Fortunately the home did not suffer any exterior damage. All wall and ceiling plaster was removed and replaced with drywall and all electrical redone and equipped with a 200A service. All lighting fixtures were upgraded and both baths. A laundry room was constructed downstairs just off the kitchen. All the interior doors and woodwork was replaced with solid poplar wood. The home’s original native oak studs and joist remained intact. A new gas-log fixture was installed in the masonry fireplace. A complete kitchen was installed along with all new appliances. Some windows have been replaced with vinyl windows while some wood windows remain with the original hand-rolled glass. Other recent upgrades included roof replacement 2 years ago and new pool liner, cover, filter and pump four years ago. The oil fired furnace was replaced with a natural gas fired furnace and central air installed.
