John Warner's Brenham Photo Gallery

A tip of the hat to photographer John Warner, who did a 'walk-about' in Brenham and posted these photos.

If you love wood moldings, wainscoting, attics, large rooms, this is the perfect place for you. The ceilings are approximately 12’ tall lending the feeling of open and large spaces.

A double foyer entry leads to the inviting rooms. The center entry hall provides access to the entire home without undue traffic through other rooms. Old-fashioned parlor charm is provided by antique details, the polished hardwood floors in dining room will set the atmosphere for formal dinning. The kitchen is large and open with breadboard walls. The den which was an office with octagon shaped room used as a music area. Also, leading from there is the room which was the doctors examining room and served the most recent owners as an office complete with elevator to the second floor. The majestic staircase with carved baluster and wainscoting of burl wood gives an elegant air to the entry area.. Upstairs you will find the large hall and access to the upper porches and attic. Five bedrooms total with two bathrooms are up.

There is a covered gazebo style carport and Victorian style garden. To complete the grounds there is a separate area for the family pool.

There are so many details to this home it is hard to describe them all. All doors have transom windows above for circulation. Extensive fretwork in door openings and additional details are throughout the home.
